I would recommend most of these books to all of you. However, The Dark Tower series is not for the faint of heart. It can be, as a friend of mine described it, 'disturbing'. Also, the Ellen Hopkins books are a bit adult. The Ronald Dahl books are meant for younger children, but I think they are very good anyway. The Phantom Tollbooth is almost like Alice in Wonderland, it has the same feel to it.
